The Pangal Kanba Lup (PKL) on Saturday decried United Meitei-Pangal Committee spokesperson Raees Ahmed Tampak’s representation of the Pangal community’s voice regarding the prevailing issue and termed it regrettable.
The association, in a release, alleged Raees Ahmed of pursuing his agenda for personal gains rather than truly representing the community, stating that his current approach does not accurately reflect the sentiments of the community during this crisis.
It also urged the Wire’s to seek a more authentic perspective on the crisis from someone else and not Raees Ahmed.
The community is already facing challenges, and having someone who exacerbates the situation is not helpful, it said.
It expressed discontentment that supposed community leaders are engaging in divisive politics and power struggles amidst the ongoing violence. It further reiterated that the Pangal community remains neutral.
