Painting competition held at relief camp

A total of 105 IDPs students who are taking shelter at Akampat Relief camp and from various relief camps took part in the competition.

A spot painting competition for the displaced students organised and sponsored by ‘Change for Better Manipur’ was held at Thongju Kendra Relief Camp, Akampat on Sunday.

The competition was held under two categories. For the junior category of Class III - V, it was held under the theme, ‘My Home’ and for the senior category of Class VI to X, it was held under the theme, ‘Every War is War Against Children.’

A total of 105 IDPs students who are taking shelter at Akampat Relief camp and from various relief camps took part in the competition.

In the junior category, Nongthombam Lockiya Devi, Class V of Nongpok Maheikol took the first position. Toijam Thoiba, class IV of Khongnangthaba Maheikol took the Second position while Khumanthem Mangal, class IV of Khongnangthaba Maheikol came third.

In the senior category, Tongbram Anjali chanu, class IX of Alpha BCI came first, Keisam Deniver, class IX of Success School came second while

Konthoujam Wangon, Class IX of Eastern Ideal School came third.

Cash prizes along with citations were given to the toppers of the competition.

SDC, Imphal East Sapam Jotin, S Ranjita Devi of Nirmal Foundation, RK Bicom Singh, Wang Nongthombam of Social Media Admin Manipur, Dimbeshor Sharma of Change for Better Manipur, Chairman, COPMeV L Inaocha meitei and assistant secretary MCM K Manju were the dias members of the function.

Different like-minded social activists and organisations like RK Echanthoi, Eramdam epao, SAAM, Poknapham Daily newspaper, Nirmal Foundation and FENY donated cash prizes for the competition.
