N Biren Singh, who was sworn in as Manipur chief minister for the second term on Monday, remembered his late parents and sought their blessings to fulfil the aspirations of the people of Manipur.
"Remembering my late parents on this special day. Upon reaching home after the oath-taking ceremony, I paid my respects to the two most beautiful souls who have always guided me. Sought their blessings to give me the strength to fulfil the aspirations of the people of Manipur," Biren said in a Twitter post.
Manipur Governor La Ganesan administered the oaths of office and secrecy to Nongthombam Biren Singh, leader of the BJP Legislative Party, Manipur as Chief Minister on Monday.
The swearing-in ceremony was attended by BJP national president JP Nadda, Manipur BJP president A Sharda Devi, Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Pratima Bhumik, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb and Nagaland Deputy Chief Minister Yanthungo Patton among others.
Along with Biren, Thongam Biswajit Singh, Yumnam Khemchand Singh, Konthoujam Govindas Singh, Nemcha Kipgen and Awangbow Newmai were also sworn as ministers for the state of Manipur.
