A health checkup programme has found that oral cancer tests are a must for women who use tobacco products in various forms.
On Sunday, the Nupi Na Nupigidamak and Urban Primary Health Centre, Langol Tarung, conducted a health check-up of oral-breast-cervical cancer and free test at the health centre.
During the camp, 42 women were tested and medicines distributed free of cost.
Speaking to the media, Babylee of Nupi Na Nupigidamak said that these days many women use tobacco products in various forms as a fashion or as they are addicted to it. And it is well known that tobacco products cause various diseases of which oral cancer is one.
Therefore, there is a need for women using tobacco products to undergo a cancer test, Babylee said.
So, taking that into consideration, Nupi Na Nupigidamak in connection with Primary Health Centre has conducted the health camp, Babylee said.
