A one-day legal awareness programme for women as a part of observing International Women’s Week was held on Saturday at Sagolband Kangabam Leikai Yumjao Lairembi Community Hall, Sagolband, Imphal West, Manipur.
District Legal Services Authority, Imphal West, in collaboration with Legal Aid Clinic, Manipur State Commission for Women, DC Complex, Imphal West under the aegis of Manipur State Legal Services Authority conducted the programme.
The programme was held under the guidance of RK Memcha Devi, MJS, District and Sessions Judge, Imphal West cum Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Imphal West and led by Janggoulen Haokip, MJS, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Imphal West cum Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Imphal West.
Laishram Mema Devi, president, Kangabam Leikai Apunba Nupi Marup (Meira Paibi) and Kangabam Ashok Singh, president, Naharol Welfare Club, Kangabam Leikai attended the programme as guests.
Aribam Danny Sharma, OA, DLSA, IW, Ld. Advocate and B. Supriya and Ld. Advocate Th. Premlata also attended the programme as resource persons and spoke on various topics on the welfare of women.
Around 80 people including women, Law students and staff of DLSA, Imphal West participated in the awareness programme.
