The Centre for Development Activities (CDAC), Wangjing, Thoubal District, under the aegis of Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DePWD), Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India, New Delhi, conducted a one-day free mental health screening camp on Thursday.
The camp was held at the premises of Centre for Mental Health & Rehabilitation (Half-Way Home) Wangjing Bazar, Moirangthem Leirak in connection with World Mental Health Day 2023 under the theme “Mental Health is a Universal Human Right”.
A team of doctors led by Senior Psychiatrist of District Hospital, Chandel Dr Kh Robindro Singh, Dr Leimapokpam Bidyarani Devi and Dr Dianah Rose Ningthoujam screened and gave treatment to around 100 patients from Wangjing and its nearby villages.
Dr Kh Robindro Singh also spoke on common mental illness and its management as part of the camp. M Renuka Devi, Secretary of the organisation welcomed all the patients and gave a keynote address about the observance.
