Thoubal District Police arrested an individual along with a large quantity of illegal cough syrup and tablets on Monday, police sources said.
According to police, on Monday, at about 4 am, acting on a tip off, a team of Thoubal commando led by O Wangkhomba, Additional SP(Ops) and assisted by Inspector K Nitaranjan, OC, CDO, Thoubal under the supervision of Jogeschandra Haobijam, Superintendent of Police, Thoubal rushed to the area,
The team found illegal drugs concealed at a house located at Lilong Leihaokhong under Lilong PS and arrested an individual.
The arrested has been identified as one Amar, 27, son of Md Hamid of Lilong Chaobok Mairen Khun, Thoubal district from Lilong Leihaokhong.
The team seized a total of 360 codeine phosphate bottles and 710 tablets marked as Span PRX and 1191 tablets marked as N 10 Nitrazepam tablets which were concealed inside the granary of the house.
The arrested person along with seized items have been handed over to Lilong PS and a case has been registered for further action, the sources added.
