A high explosive, old aerial bomb was found at a paddy field located near Kakching Lamkhai, Kakching district on Thursday, police sources said.
The bomb was detected by a farmer, Mayanglambam Thoiba, son of M Thaninjao from Kakching Khulen. Thoiba detected the bomb while digging his paddy field around 8.32 am, according to the police.

A team of Kakching district police rushed to the spot and secured the area. Later, a team of Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad picked up the bomb around 2 pm, and it was safely disposed of at Moramba Chingol, Kakching Municipal Corporation dumping site.
