A woman, who was driving a two-wheeler vehicle (Activa), died in a road mishap involving a four-wheeler vehicle (Maruti Santro-MN01AG/6058) near Malom Oil Pump under Nambol police station in Bishnupur district at 6.15 am Sunday, sources said.
According to police, the deceased has been identified as one Pebam Ranjita, 39, daughter of late Dhananjay from Utlou Mayai Leikai. She was working as a nurse at Raj Medicity Hospital, North AOC, it added.
She was on her way to make it to her 6.30 am shift when the scooter she was driving collided with the car coming from Imphal towards Moirang, it mentioned.
She was rushed to Raj Medicity Hospital, but was declared ‘brought dead’ by the doctors, it informed.
The Nambol police had filed a case regarding the incident and further investigation is underway, while the body was received by the bereaved family after post-mortem was conducted at RIMS, it added.
