National People’s Party (NPP) Churachandpur district unit president V Chinkhenpau on Thursday announced that the candidate list for the party has been finalised in five assembly constituencies of Churachandpur district and one from Pherzawl district by the party.
He was speaking in a press conference which was also attended by the general secretary and vice president of the NPP Churachandpur district at Salem House, Hebron Veng, New Lamka.
He announced the names of the candidates as Thangthatling Sinate for Tipaimukh assembly constituency; Khanthang Tonsing for Thanlon assembly constituency; Nehminthang Haokip for Henglep assembly constituency; Th Thangzalian for Churachandpur assembly constituency; Khaipau Haokip for Saikot assembly constituency and Khaibiaklian for Singngat assembly constituency. They will contest with NPP tickets, he added.
The party national president and chief minister of Meghalaya Conrad A Sangma will come on Friday at New Lamka, Churachandpur, he informed, urging the people to turn up in large numbers.
Meanwhile, in respect of Churachandpur district, two aspiring candidates had filed their nomination with the first being from Janata Dal-United candidate Lallianmang Khaute alias LM Khaute for Churachandpur assembly constituency and the second being T Manga Vaiphei who will contest as Indian National Congress (INC) ticket for Henglep assembly constituency.
