The United People’s Front-Zomi (UPF-Zomi) stated that the Front is not a party to lifting of blockade along the National Highway-2.
The UPF-Zomi issued a clarification amid the news of lifting of blockade along the NH-2 by the United People’s Front (UPF) and the Kuki National Organisation (KNO) with immediate effect from Sunday.
A release by the Information and Publicity Wing (IPW) of the UPF-Zomi stated that the Front, comprising of ZRO/ZRA, HPC (D), ZRF and ZDF “would like to make our stand clear that the Front is not a party to lift the blockade on National Highway (NH)-2”.
It may be further stated that UPF-Zomi has never imposed blockade on NH-2 and for that matter on any national and state highways, it stated.
“Hence, the decision of lifting the blockade does not fall under the authority of UPF and KNO and would like to clarify that it is the people’s movement and the people are the legitimate authority in making such call,” the Front stated.
