‘No Separate Administration’ campaign gaining support

Several public meetings were held across the state on Monday against the attempt to form a ‘separate administration’ in Manipur.

The ‘No Separate Administration in Manipur’ campaign initiated by the All Manipur United Clubs’ Organisation (AMUCO) is gaining momentum.

Public support for the campaign is growing as public meetings were held across the state on Monday against the attempt to form a ‘separate administration’ in the state, AMUCO said in a release.

The public meetings were held at Tharoijam Maning Leikai Community Hall, Salam Mamang Leikai Community Hall, Haorang Thongkhong, Maklang Keithel, Karong Community Hall, Sangaithel Community Hall and Kachikhul Mayai Leikai Community Hall organised by the respective local clubs and Meira Paibis.

The meeting saw a large participation. It was attended by several eminent members of various civil society organisations, including AMUCO vice-president K Helen, COHR chairman Phulindro Konsham, AMAWOVA advisor, Ch Usharani, YOFFS president, H Meghachandra, NRC vice president, and H Herojit among others.

The meetings discussed various agendas, including stepping up relief and rehabilitation of the affected victims, stopping militarisation in Manipur, withdrawing SoO truce with Kuki militants immediately and flushing them out from Manipur among others, it added.
