On Tuesday, at Nongmeibung Multipurpose community hall, a sit-in protest was held by Nongmeibung Women Development Meira Paibi Association, demanding the state government led by Chief Minister N Biren to solve the prevailing communal tension at the earliest.

“No separate administration at any cost, Go back Chin-Kuki separatist foreigners,” one of the placards read.

Among the protesting women, one Mutum Subita told the media that "there is absolutely no place for a separation administration". She also said security forces should be deployed at danger zone and protect them.
