Associate editor of Poknapham Bijoy Kakchingtabam on Sunday took charge as the new president of the All Manipur Working Journalists' Union (AMWJU).
As per the rules and guidelines of AMWJU, its president in-charge L Pritam handed over the charge of president to Bijoy after being elected as president during a election of the union held on May 1, a release stated.
The new president had also handed over specific posts to the newly elected nine executive members of AMWJU who are elected with him on the same day, it added.
Raj Nongthombam of Impact TV had been appointed as the vice-president, Athokpam Jiten of Sangai Express as general secretary, S Sonia of Poknapham as joint secretary, B Sanjoy of ISTV as treasurer, Ng Sanjoy of Ekhoigi Pangthung as Press Club secretary, Priyo Achom of Morning Bell as publicity secretary, M Khagemba as games and sports secretary and K Nabakumar as internal auditor, it mentioned.
