The titular King of Manipur, Leishemba Sanajaoba on Thursday appealed to the government to mend the roads at the Koubru and Thangjing and also construct a proper camping site with proper toilets, kitchens and bathrooms for the pilgrims and people visiting the place.
Out of the many holy shrines and places at Koubru, there is a holy shrine of Ima Imoinu where people from various places of the state visit to worship the god during the day of celebration, he said, adding, instead of visiting the holy place only during the celebration, people should also visit the many holy places at Koubru throughout the year.
He said that during the recent visit to the shrine of Imoinu, he was accompanied by many organisations and many young people showing interest in the history and the culture of the people of the state, to which he stated he was extremely humbled.
He further showed his gratitude to the government for recognising Koubru and Thangjing as sacred sites and mentioned that he along with the people of the state visited Koubru as an initiative for the people to visit the places as pilgrim groups.
