NCP delegation calls on Manipur Governor Anusuiya Uikey

A delegation of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) led by its youth national president, Dheeraj Sharma, along with five others, called on Manipur Governor Anusuiya Uikey at Raj Bhavan, Imphal Wednesday evening. They apprised the governor of the ground reports of several vulnerable areas they have visited in Manipur.

The other five are Prashant Jagtap, former Mayor, Pune City, Javed Inamdar, national general secretary, NCP, Youth, Ibyomoya Soram, Manipur NCP president Gopi Mohan, general secretary, Manipur State and Kishore Kamble, president, NCP, Youth Pune City.

As per a release from the Raj Bhavan, Dheeraj Sharma conveyed that several internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Terapur, Imphal East seek the intervention of the governor to look into the matter regarding school fees of those students in relief camps studying in private schools. They said some of the children stopped going to school as they were unable to pay their school fees.

The governor assured that this matter will be forwarded through the chief secretary and resolved at the earliest as no children should be deprived of their educational facilities, the Raj Bhavan said.

The team further informed that they have distributed many essential relief items like foods, clothes, diapers, sanitary napkins, among others for the IDPs and will continue to distribute in various relief camps in the state. They also handed over essential relief items to the governor in order to distribute to the IDPs through her office.

The governor informed the team that separate Relief Bank Account was opened by the Governor’s Secretariat for providing assistance to the IDPs and those who wish to donate can extend their help through the relief bank account number which is 42104850437 and IFSC Code: SBIN0000092, the Raj Bhavan said.           

The governor, while appreciating their noble humanitarian services of the visiting team for the people taking refuge at relief camps in the state, informed that continuous efforts are in place from her end to reach out to both the Meitei and Kuki communities for bringing amicable solutions, the Raj Bhavan said.

The governor stated that peace and normalcy can be restored only through non-violence. So, she vehemently appealed to all not to resort to any form of violence as it will not bring any solution to the prevailing situation in the state.
