With a focus on raising awareness about heart disease and preventive measures, NCD Cell, District Health Society, Chandel observed World Heart Day 2024 on Tuesday at Penaching Village Community Hall, Chandel under the theme ‘Use Heart for Action’.
The observation, which began with a welcome note from Lamthaka Meshil Charanga, APM, NCD Chandel, was attended by Dr Joyson Matthew Monsang, CMO, DHS Chandel as chief guest, Dr L Deben Singh, DNO, NCD, Chandel as functional president and Khp Ng Virnandra, assistant chief PVA as guest of honour and it emphasizes the urgency of raising awareness on heart health and accelerating actions to prevent, detect early, and manage cardiovascular diseases (CVDs).
The modest gathering also includes MOs, ANMs, ASHA workers/facilitators, Staffs of DHS Chandel, Village Leaders and public.
Free screening of NCD related diseases such as BP, Hypertension and Diabetes along with RBS and ECG scanning were also conducted at the premises.
Later, as part of the World Heart Day observation, DHS Chandel oraganised football matches at Liwa Sarei’s Thoruwl Turf ground.
