National Girl Child Day 2022 observed in Tengnoupal

The District Legal Services Authority, Chandel under the aegis of Manipur State Legal Services Authority on Monday observed the National Girl Child Day as a part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav at Khangshim Village, Machi Block in Tengnoupal District.

Secretary of All Tribal Women Organisation (ATWO) R Moikham highlighted about the discriminations faced by a girl child in today’s society. She also spoke on the importance of providing equal rights for girl child and removing prejudice against girl child and giving the opportunities equally.

Village authorities, local youths and children residing in children homes in the area participated in the programme.

Meanwhile, a micro legal services camp on theme “Empowerment of Tribal Women through Livelihood support and Skill development” was organised at Chandel district headquarter. Women beneficiaries from various villages of the district were enrolled for “Weaver Cards” during the camp.
