Naga Women's Union condemns Puiluan bomb plot by security personnel

The NWU accused the security forces of being the "new face of terrorism" by disrupting peace in the region.

Naga Women’s Union (NWU) on Wednesday condemned the planting of an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) at Puiluan (Kambiron) village in Noney district on September 24 allegedly by an Indian Armed Forces personnel.

NWU stated in a release that the NWU condemned the planting of the IED at Kambiron village allegedly by the Indian Armed Forces through one of its personnel. It alleged that the bomb attack was targeted at the Naga people at Kambiron village.

NWU accused the security forces of being the "new face of terrorism" by disrupting peace in the region.

“The statement by the accused that the IED was planted under the direction of his commanding officers of the 87th CRPF Battalion and that the planted device came from 39th Assam Rifles at Nungba, revealed the ulterior motives of the Indian Security System,” it stated.

It also demanded the state government and the authorities concerned to investigate the situation with genuine intention.

“NWU further appealed to the authorities concerned to repeal the draconian law Armed Forces Special Power Act 1958 which is irreconcilable to humanity... NWU pledged to stand against such inhuman acts and to restore a peaceful environment. The union also appealed to all the like-minded pacifists to stand together to eliminate the sadists from our lives,” it added.
