Murder Case: Man surrenders before police in Churachandpur

A murder accused surrendered at Churachandpur Police Station stating that he had killed the deceased person by hitting him on the head with a wooden stick.

A man has confessed to murdering one man from College Veng, New Lamka and surrendered at the Churachandpur Police Station, police sources said.

Police said the killer identified as Ginkhansiam Guite, son of Thangkhanlian Guite of Mission Veng, Hiangtam Lamka, Churachandpur, surrendered at Churachandpur Police Station, stating that he had killed the deceased person by hitting him on the head with a wooden stick, which was also retrieved from the spot by the police team.

Police said a case under FIR No 189 (12)2022 CCP-PS u/s 302/34 IPC has been registered for further investigation. Ginkhansiam has been arrested and remanded to police custody till December 24 by the order of CJM, Churachandpur and the body of Suanbiaklal taken to RIMS, Imphal for post-mortem.

According to the police an information was received around 11.45 pm on December 20 that Suanbiaklal (37), son of Nengkhanvung of College Veng, New Lamka was killed by some unknown person near Mahaniam Rehabilitation Centre, Vengnuan South, New Lamka.

Following the information, a team of CCP-PS rushed to the spot, held an inquest over the death and kept the body at District Hospital Mortuary, Churachandpur.
