MUC guest faculties launch cease work strike

The cease work strike will continue unless and until remuneration for the pending 19 months are released, Manipur University of Culture (MUC) Guest Faculty Association president said.

In wake of not getting remuneration for the last 19 months, the Manipur University of Culture (MUC) Guest Faculty Association on Wednesday launched a cease work strike.

Declaring the cease work strike during a sit-in protest held at MUC Extension Campus in Imphal West, president of the association, B Gopiraman Sharma, also shared the grievances of the 49 guest faculties who are being neglected by the varsity's authority.

He said such negligence of the varsity had let them cross the limit of their patience. The cease work strike will continue unless and until remuneration for the pending 19 months are released, he added.

Asking the varsity authority to stop all sorts of infrastructure development activities in the varsity campus if they are unable to pay the guest faculties, the president lastly drew the attention of the Art and Culture department for its kind intervention, to save the University by addressing the grievances of its guest faculties.
