MPP supports Independent candidate Alyson Abonmai

The MPP party also extended its support to independent candidate Rajkumar Somendro Singh alias Kaiku in the inner Manipur Parliamentary constituency election.

Manipur People’s Party (MPP) on Monday declared to support Lok Sabha outer parliamentary constituency independent candidate Alyson Abonmai.

A declaration letter signed by president of the regional party S Brojen Singh mentioned that the party decided to support the independent candidate in the spirit of regionalism, patriotism, socialism and co-operation in bringing peace and harmony in Manipur.

The second phase outer parliamentary Lok Sabha election is scheduled to be held on April 26. In the election, four candidates including two independent candidates and one each from Indian National Congress and Naga Peoples’ Party are contesting for the outer seat.

The candidates are Alfred Kangam S Arthur for INC, Kachui Timothy Zimik for Naga People’s Front, Alyson Abonmai and S Kho John as independent candidates.

The MPP party also extended its support to independent candidate Rajkumar Somendro Singh alias Kaiku in the inner Manipur Parliamentary constituency election.

Meanwhile, six candidates including three independent candidates will be contesting in the inner Manipur Parliamentary constituency.

The date of polling for the first phase inner parliamentary constituency is scheduled on April 19; however, the counting of votes for both the constituencies will be done on June 4.
