Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee general secretary Ksh Kennedy has questioned the genuinity of the statement made by Kakching MLA Mayanglambam Rameshwar during a programme at Manipur state film development society saying that the central government has issued an order to implement National Register of citizens (NRC) in Manipur within March 2024.

Speaking to the media at Kakching block Congress Committee office at Kakching Keithel, Kennedy said that people of Manipur have been demanding the government to implement NRC in the state and the Congress party also desires the same.

He questioned if the order mentioned by MLA Mayanglambam Rameshwar is true or not as the Congress party could not find any order regarding the implementation of NRC in the state. He urged the MLA to produce the order copy to the public to prove that the centre has agreed to the implementation.
