Leishemba Sanajaoba, Rajya Sabha MP from Manipur, on Tuesday said the Manipur government will take stern action against people aiding drug menace in the state and urged people to collectively strive for a drug-free state.
The MP was speaking at the inauguration of the Tangkhul Naga Wungnao Long Multi-purpose hall at Wino bazaar, Ukhrul. He stressed that the government’s ‘War on Drugs’ is for the welfare of every person, especially the youths in the state.
Sanajaoba assured that he will work to improve ties between the hills and the valley. “I will work with love and mutual respect, in love there is peace and with peace there is development,” he said. He urged the people to forgive and forget all past mistakes and propel towards development.
The MP pointed out that the Northeast region is moving swiftly towards peace and prosperity because of the sincere efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He also expressed gratitude to people of Ukhrul and the district deputy commissioner for timely completion of TNWL Multi-purpose hall.
President of TNWL Qr SA Ramnganing expressed gratitude to the MP for donating Rs 24 lakh to build the multi-purpose hall.
Ramnganing further stated that the new hall will provide a place for all village headmen to assemble and organise official meetings.
Ukhrul DC, four zonal ( East,west,South and North) of Wungnaolong ( headman) of Tangkhul areas along with Tangkhul Awungva SakLong (TAwSL/ queens ) TSL, HSL,TKS among others attended the inaugural function.
