Speaking to the media at JNIMS in Imphal on Wednesday, Diviya’s mother Laishram Sanathoi highlighted that she and her husband along with their three kids were staying on a piece of public donated land at Leimaram.

“But since the conflict started, we had to leave our home and take shelter at a relief camp. Our home and belongings have all been destroyed,” she said.

She stated that Diviya suddenly fell ill in the relief camp and upon treatment discovered that both her kidneys had failed.

My husband also passed away in August at the relief camp, she added.

She sobbingly said that the family had no means to provide treatment for Diviya.

“She wants to study and play with her friends once again but that is a far-fetched dream at the moment. However, the JNIMS director has assured to fund all her tests outside the state,” she said.

She also informed that several people had donated around Rs 48,000 for her treatment till now. But that would not be enough to cover the expenses, she added.

As such, she appealed to all well-wishers to donate whatever they could for her treatment.
Meanwhile, JNIMS Relief Committee chairman Thoidingjam Bon also urged people to donate for the treatment.

He further highlighted that people could send in their donations on the Gpay number 9856152727 registered under Th Sunil Khuman.
