MoS Nityanand Rai, BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra assure peace and justice

MoS Nityanand Rai informed that during the forthcoming visit of Home Minister Amit Shah to Manipur, issues of both Meitei and Kuki communities will be addressed.

Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai and BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra assessed the security situation in Kangpokpi district on Friday, official sources said.

The headquarter IGAR (East) stated that the Union minister and the BJP spokesperson were briefed by senior Assam Rifles officers on the present situation in the Kangpokpi district. The Union minister expressed admiration for the efforts of the Central security forces and reiterated the Central government's commitment to restore peace in the state.

It also informed that speaking on behalf of the Central government, the minister acknowledged that the recent incidents have posed challenges to Manipur's growth, culture and tradition. He informed that during the forthcoming visit of Home Minister Amit Shah to Manipur, issues of both Meitei and Kuki communities will be addressed.

The statement from the headquarter IGAR (East) also stated that BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra said that peace is crucial for justice and development of the state. He re-assured the people of Manipur that the centre, in collaboration with the state government, is dedicated to bring peace, justice and tranquillity to the region.

Patra called upon the citizens to have faith in the Central government and trust its efforts to resolve the challenges faced by Manipur.

He also appealed to the security forces, police and media to jointly and actively participate in the peace process.
