On the other hand, over 30 leaders of 10 different political parties have reached New Delhi to meet the Prime Minister. The parties included the Congress, CPI, CPI (M), Trinamool Congress, Forward Bloc, Shiva Sena, RSP, AAP and the NCP.

A spokesperson of the opposition parties said, they had applied for an interview with the prime minister on June 10 and they are yet to get an intimation from PMO.

He said, during the ceasefire agitation the all party delegation got an appointment with the then Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee very soon.

Several parties, including Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and others had been repeatedly questioning the silence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi with regard to Manipur violence.

It may be on record that, ever since the ethnic violence broke out in Manipur, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has neither made an appeal for peace nor given any statement.

BJP leaders had been trying to explain the Prime Minister’s silence on Manipur by saying that his trusted lieutenant Home Minister Amit Shah had been to Manipur and that he has been monitoring the situation in Manipur.

However, with the ‘involvement’ of United Kuki Liberation Front (UKLF) in BJP’s victory in Manipur assembly elections coming out in the open, the general public has grown restive with mobs targeting BJP offices and residences of party MLAs.

According to sources within the BJP, the party MLAs are expecting an appointment with the Prime Minister by June 20 during which they aimed to place their objection to any kind of administrative separation within the state.

It may be recalled here that, MLAs belonging to Kuki-Chin ethnic group had been camping in New Delhi for quite some time to press the demand for a separate administration.
