MLAs inspect site for temporary housing at Kwakta

MLAs urged officials concerned to expedite the work process of temporary housing at Kwakta.

Four MLAs of the state namely Sagolband MLA RK Imo Singh, Wangoi MLA Khuraijam Loken Singh, Mayang Imphal MLA Kongkham Robindro Singh and Moirang MLA Thongam Shanti Singh on Saturday visited the work site at Kwakta Sericulture Office in Bishnupur District wherein they inspected the ongoing construction of temporary shelter homes for the displaced persons of the ongoing conflict.

During the visit, the MLAs urged the officials concerned to expedite the work process and further assured that the renovation of the pre-existing structures would be completed by July 18, as per a release.

It said that the renovated structures will be able to accommodate up to 80 families and a pre-fabricated structure will also be completed within a month’s time, adding that it will provide shelter for at least 220 families by mid-August.

Meanwhile, awaba tarabasingi tengbang lup (peace and relief committee) Sagolband, under the initiative of MLA RK Imo Singh provided relief materials including vegetables and other edibles to the inmates of the relief camp opened at Manipur Trade and expo centre, Lamboikhongnangkhong, it mentioned.
