Thanga MLA Tongbram Robindro has reiterated his commitment to safeguarding Manipur's integrity and called for unity among the people of the state.
During an interaction with the media at the distribution of rations for 10 days to 16 relief camps opened across Thanga AC which currently houses around 1,600 displaced individuals, the MLA expressed his determination to protect Manipur's integrity at all cost using his elected representative powers.
Robindro emphasised that as the elected representative of Thanga AC, he would never let down the people who have placed their trust in him.
He vowed to be at the forefront of the fight against any external forces that threaten the state's integrity.
The MLA also highlighted the drawbacks of implementing PR in Manipur, stating that it would diminish the power of elected representatives who stand for the integrity of the state.
According to Robindro, elected representatives need to remain in their positions to effectively protect the state through political means. He stressed the importance of their presence and influence to ensure Manipur's interests are safeguarded.
Addressing the grievances of the displaced people in various relief camps across his constituency, the MLA assured that the government was taking all necessary steps for a resettlement programme.
Until the resettlement programme is implemented, Robindro pledged that the people of Thanga AC would take care of the needs of the displaced individuals, particularly those residing in the 16 camps.
The MLA's remarks underscore the importance of unity and collective action in preserving Manipur's integrity while addressing the immediate concerns of those affected by displacement.
