MLA Joykisan appeals for peace and harmony

MLA Joykisan said people of Manipur, irrespective of communities, caste or creed, should cooperate with each other to bring back peace and normalcy in the state.

As tension continued to prevail in violence-hit Manipur, MLA Joykisan appealed to the people of the state to help bring peace and tranquillity in the state.

Speaking to mediapersons at Dharmsala, Imphal on Saturday, he said the state chief minister and the Central government has been trying to bring back normalcy in the violence-hit state.

Joykisan said people of Manipur, irrespective of communities, caste or creed, should cooperate with each other to bring back peace and normalcy in the state.

Many different communities are residing in Thangmeiband assembly constituency, due to which the constituency can be considered a ‘mini India’, he said.

"In the last few days, many propagandas have been spreading. However, with timely communication among the people, there is no tension in Thangmeiband assembly constituency," he said.

He appealed to the people of Manipur to prioritise on bringing back normalcy among the communities of Manipur instead of spreading false propagandas among the public.

Panmei Mukengpou, advisor, Thangmeiband Development Organisation (TAKDO), as a representative of Naga communities of Thangmeiband, appealed to the people of Manipur not to spread rumours that could sparked off fear psychosis among the public. He appealed to the people to help bring back normalcy in the state.

Joint secretary, TAKDO, Sunny Adhikari said the present scenario of the state was worsening and he appealed to all the people Manipur irrespective of caste, communities or religion to maintain peace and harmony.
