MLA Brojen extends financial aid

Wangjing Tentha MLA Paonam Brojen extended a financial aid of Rs 1 lakh each to the family of the deceased and Rs 50,000 each to those injured in the prevailing ethnic clash, within his constituency.

Families of Havildar Thokchom Kiran of Wangjing Heitupokpi, Laishram Binod of Wangjing Hodamba and Heikrujam Rabisana of Khongjom Bazar, the three who died while trying to save houses from being set ablaze by Kuki militants in Serou and Sugnu areas received a sum of Rs 1 lakh each while injured Soibam Jony of Wangjing received Rs 50,000 from the MLA.

A team of Peace and Relief Committee Wangjing Tentha, led by MLA Brojen, visited the houses and convenor of the peace committee O Sunil handed over the amount to the families.

Speaking to the media, MLA Brojen honoured the three martyrs and said that they will be remembered forever by the people of Wangjing. He added that the government will provide a government job to the bereaved families and he will extend all the help possible.

MLA Brojen also assured that a memorial pillar each for the three martyrs will be constructed within his constituency for the future generations to remember them.
