Mithibong Mitambal, a patriotic music video album by Keke Wahengbam, sheds light on the feeling of abandonment experienced by the people, who had placed their trust in their so-called leaders, as the state struggles to survive nearly three-month of violence anad unrest in the state.
The soul-stirring music album was released on Tuesday at the Manipur Press Club, Imphal, and seeks to offer encouragement to the people of Manipur during these trying times.
The state has been in turmoil due to the ethnic conflict between the Meitei and Kuki communities that started on May 3 and refuses to die down. Nearly 150 people have died, hundreds others injured and over 70,000 rendered homeless and displaced in the violence so far.
Keke Wahengbam, former announcer of AIR Imphal and lyricist of the music video, delivered the keynote address during the release of the video, which was directed by Vevvaey Bonnyson and produced by Eteen Computerised Eye Testing and Eye Care Centre Production.

Keke acknowledged that it might not seem like the right time to indulge in music and enjoyment due to the ongoing turmoil. Nevertheless, he emphasised that the video aimed to ignite the patriotic spirit among the people of Manipur.
The singer cum lyricist informed that the lyrics of the music video were inspired by the alarming observation that the Meetei, an indigenous community of Manipur, is today facing the plight of becoming refugees in their own motherland.
The music video also sheds light on the feeling of abandonment experienced by the people, who had placed their trust in the leaders during this critical situation, Keke said clarifying that the video does not intend to make any personal attacks on the government but rather serves as a heartfelt appeal from the children to their parents.
The cast and crew of the music album video were honored with mementos during the release function.
The programme was attended by Up-Adhyksha of Imphal West ZP Ksh Tama as chief guest, chairman of Babina Group Th Dhabali, FFM chairman L Surjakanta, culturalogist Ninghouja Lancha, caretaker councellor of Thoubal Thoiba Puyam Jote, Ortho Neuro Chiropractor Romen Chandam, singer Naba Volcano as guest of honour, while AMMIK president Kh Thoiba presided over the programme.
