In a shocking incident, an 18-year-old housewife who went missing with her two children from Kanglatombi AR Colony under Sekmai Police Station, Imphal West was found hanging while her children were also found dead.
The deceased woman has been identified as one Sarasati Ramudamu, 18, wife of Deven Lohar from Kanglatongbi AR Colony. She went missing with her two children, Puran Lohar, three years old, and Rupamani, two months old, after they had gone out from their residence since 1 pm of Thursday, police said.
In connection with the incident, her husband had lodged a missing person report on Friday at Sekmai Police Station. Afterwards, she was found hanging in the forest of Parsain village under Kangpokpi Police Station in Kangpokpi district at 4.30 pm.
Both her children were found dead in a shed located at Parsain village, police said., adding that it is suspected that she had killed the children before allegedly hanging herself. Kangpokpi Police Station has registered a case in connection with the incident.
A team of State Forensic Science Laboratory made a detailed inspection of the site and the body has been transferred to RIMS mortuary for post mortem examination.
