Miscreants abduct two NHIDCL workers

Miscreants abducted a contractor and an accountant engaged in the construction of roadways under National Highways Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) from Tamphung village, located 110 kilometers west of Maram Police Station in Senapati district, Manipur on Friday.

The abducted workers have been identified as Mukesh Kumar, 32, son of Ramesh Kumar from Thamber village in Ambala district, Haryana, and Anil Kumar, 40, son of Janeshwar Prasad from Baroli Majra in Yamuna Nagar district, Haryana. Mukesh Kumar is a contractor and Anil Kumar, an accountant. They were reportedly abducted while inspecting the worksite.

Following the incident, Maram Police Station registered a case for further investigation.

Meanwhile OC of Maram Police Station rushed to the spot but faced challenges to reach the area due to a landslide.

As per sources, the construction work is being carried out by the New India Contractors & Developers Private Limited and Bharat Construction Co. (JV) under NHIDCL at the Maram Peren Section (Package-3).
