Meira Paibis of Thoubal and Kakching district staged protests at different parts of the districts condemning the alleged killing of Phijam Hemanjit and Hijam Linthoingambi Chanu on Saturday.
Meira Paibis of Youth Development Club, Heirok part II maning leikai, Kairembikhok Apunba Meira Paibi Lup, Khangabok Apunba Meira paibi Lup, Heirok development Club and All Heirok Meira Paibi staged sit-in protest at their respective localities.
Wangoo Mamang Sabal Nongyaikhong Mapal Apunba Meira Paibi also organised a sit-in protest at Wangoo Nongyaikhong Mapal. Meira paibis of Wangoo Sagolambi, Nungai, Nurathel, Lumphupat, Wangoo Sabam and Wangoo Mamang Sabal took part in the protest.
Protestors condemned the killing and demanded the government to bring out the culprits at the earliest. They also warned of intense agitation if the government failed to do the needful. They further demanded to terminate the security forces for their action against the students protesting to bring out justice for Linthoingambi and Hemanjit.
