In observance of the Great June 18 Uprising Unity Day and as a tribute to the martyrs who had laid down their lives in safeguarding Manipur's integrity, the Voluntary Help Unit Committee in collaboration with RIMS organised the Mega Blood Donation Camp 2022 on Saturday at RIMS, Imphal West.
As many as 100 donors each voluntarily donated a unit of blood during the 21st edition of the blood donation camp which was conducted under the theme, “Blood for all races.”
Speaking to the media, HoD of department of Immuno Haematology and Blood Transfusion, RIMS, Dr A Barindra said regular donating of blood not only makes the donor healthy but also saves precious lives.
Blood banks in the state are now able to fulfil the demand of blood needed by the patients as the numbers of blood donors is increasing in the state, contributing towards treatment of patients, he added.
The doctor appealed to the people of the state to make a habit of donating blood, to save many precious lives that are in need of blood.
Both the Voluntary Help Unit Committee and RIMS expressed gratitude to the donors who have voluntarily donated blood during the Saturday’s camp.
