Assuring all possible support to the demand for inclusion of Meetei in ST list on an individual level, Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president K Meghachandra on Wednesday said let the state government decide whether the demand is genuine.
Meghachandra, who is also the MLA of Wangkhem AC, made the statement to the media after the team of STDCM thronged his official residence at Babupara, Imphal and submitted a representation seeking his support in the demand for inclusion of Meetei in ST list.
“According to me, the demand is genuine. I will personally support it at my best level,” he said, assuring that he will also discuss the matter at the Congress party’s level for any possible political support.

While submitting the representation, the team addressed the MPCC president on the need for inclusion of Meetei in ST list and also highlighted all the possible criteria to be included in the ST list.
