Contributing towards the health and well being of locals in Tamenglong district, Tamenglong Battalion under the aegis of Jwalamukhi Sector Assam Rifles organised a one-day medical camp for local population in Tamenglong district.
The Battalion medical staff treated the needy and underprivileged locals including elders, women and children and provided them with essential medicines.
The Battalion senior medical officer, alongwith medical staff also carried out basic health check ups for the attendees. The camp also included a lecture on the benefits of Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, a flagship scheme of Government of India to provide cashless secondary and tertiary health care.
The locals welcomed and appreciated the initiative of the Battalion in reaching out to the local populace and providing them with medical check up and medicines.
During the camp, approximately 53 civilians, including 22 women and seven children were attended by the Battalion's doctors.
