MCPCR team calls on Manipur Governor Anusuiya Uikey

The MCPCR team urged the Governor to implement the Manipur State Child Policy 2020, which was notified in state gazette on November 12, 2020 for public opinion ever since remains silent pending a cabinet decision for enactment as a policy.

A team of Manipur Commission for Protection of Child Rights (MCPCR) led by its chairperson Keisam Pradipkumar called on Governor Anusuiya Uikey at Raj Bhawan on Friday.

The MCPCR team urged the Governor to implement the Manipur State Child Policy 2020, which was notified in state gazette on November 12, 2020 for public opinion ever since remains silent pending a cabinet decision for enactment as a policy.

The Commission team drew the attention of the Governor upon pressing needs of such a  policy document in view of the current turbulent situation in Manipur resulting in some 20,000 plus children left internally displaced.

She patiently heard the submissions of the MCPCR. Members Lamyanbi, Anita Chabungbam,  Kausar Banu, Phungching Shaiza and Brand Ambassador of MCPCR Jinatree Thounaojam were in the team.
