MAYOL condemns disruption of electoral process

Manipur Youth League (MAYOL) on Saturday vehemently condemned the string of unwanted incidents that occurred during the first phase of the Lok Sabha elections in Inner Manipur constituency on Friday.

MAYOL, in a release, stated that members of the league also reportedly came across mass proxy voting and misconduct in some polling stations and advised those concerned to refrain from carrying out such acts. It expressed dissatisfaction that Friday’s incident has defamed the reputation of the state.

It urged those concerned not to carry out such untoward acts in future and also appealed to the public to extend their support and cooperation to prevent the same. It lauded those who raised their voice and stood up against such misconduct.

MAYOL also urged the authorities concerned to provide needed assistance to those who sustained injuries and look into the polling stations that were damaged.
