Mayang Imphal gangrape: Two more accused plead for bail

The court has fixed bail hearing on October 8.

Two more accused who were arrested in connection with Mayang Imphal gangrape case filed bail petition in the Special Judge (POCSO), Imphal West on Thursday. The court has fixed bail hearing on October 8.

The two accused are Md Feji alias Mohammad, 22, son of Md Sanayai of Mayang Imphal Bengoon Mamang Leikai and Md Salim, 21, son of Majahar Chesam of Heibong Makhong Mathak Leikai.

The accused prayed for their release on bail under Section 437 of CrPC by rejecting the remand prayer of police. However, the court postponed the bail hearing on October 8 as the IO did not submit the report of the case.

Further, the court has also fixed the bail hearing for another accused, namely, Md Noor Mohammad on October 8.

Three of them are among the six accused, who were arrested by police in connection with the Mayang Imphal minor gang rape and murder case.

The court had sent all six accused namely, Arish alias Maja Khan, 19, son of Md Sikander of Heibong Mathak Leikai; Md Salim Khan, 21, son of Md Majahar Chesam of Heibong Makhong Mathak Leikai; Md Noor Mohhamad, 20, son of Md Kalam of Heibong Makhong Mathak Leikai and Md Feij alias Mohamad, 22, son of Md Sanayai of Mayang Imphal Bangoon Mamang Loukok to 15 days judicial custody.
