Maram Bazar Village Authority on Wednesday threatened to take legal action against one A Athili for allegedly spreading misinformation and maligning the dignity of the organisation in connection with the recent incident at Maram Bazaar.
In a release issued by its secretary K Daniel, Maram Bazar village Authority stated that the allegations branding Northern Maram People as good at creating communal disharmony and that NH stretching from Maram to Lairouching was not safe for commuters is clearly reflective of a seized mindset.
Dragging the name of the Northern Maram People and damaging the image of the National Highway stretch by A Athili’s press statement, which has no connection with the incident and maligning the dignity of the organisation is a defamation case, it stated.

Derogatory remarks against certain Maram Bazar Youth Leaders- Pungdi Celestine, Solomon, Daniel, Dr Anthony who were equally controlling the tense situation in the frontline along side Makhan leaders- including Pious and David Social workers, Oja Kaisii a former Catholic Church Leader, Peter of Khuman, Nikhini and others - is a total disregard for the efforts they had put in to contain the situation but a deliberate attempt to defame the leaders, it further stated.
The village authority demanded A Athili to authenticate his allegations; otherwise the Northern Maram People will view him seriously and sue him if A Athili does not tender an apology for the damage caused by his scheme, it mentioned.
