The Manipur International Textile Expo (MANITEX) 2022 edition is gearing up for its opening on November 5 at Urban Haat, Nilakuthi, Imphal East to showcase handlooms and handicrafts items among others in larger scale with participation of different states and countries.
MANITEX 2022, which will be held from November 5 to 15, will have 124 stalls, including 10 international stalls and 10 stalls from other states of the country, a release stated.
Textiles, Commerce and Industry Minister Nemcha Kipgen on Thursday inspected the venue and stalls being constructed. Kipgen was accompanied by Manipur Industrial Development Corporation (MANIDCO) chairman Kongkham Robindro Singh during the inspection of the stalls.
While interacting with the officers and officials of the Directorate of Handloom & Handicrafts, Government of Manipur during the visit, Kipgen sought their cooperation and sheer dedication for success of this year’s edition of MANITEX.
MANITEX’s main objective is to showcase all the products of handlooms, handicrafts, dyeing & printing, power loom, garment, embroidery and costume in larger scale with participation of different States and countries; brand promotion of local products with MANITEX Fashion Week and to groom export potential entrepreneurs of textile material.
MANITEX will also feature laying of foundation, inauguration and distribution, developing a road map for inclusive development of the textile industry in Manipur, a release stated.
