Manipur's bailey bridge over Likli Khong to be closed from July 8

The bailey bridge over Likli Khong near Purum Likli Bazar along the Sagolmang-Saikul road (State Highway) will be closed for a period of 35 days to facilitate maintenance work with effect from July 8.

The Manipur government on Tuesday announced that the bailey bridge situated over Likli Khong near Purum Likli Bazar along the Sagolmang-Saikul road (State Highway) will be closed for a period of 35 days to facilitate maintenance work with effect from July 8 to August 12.   

The road connecting Pukhao Lamkhai (Iranpham) to Dolaithabi Dam Lamkhai (Purum/Mairenpat) via Pukhao Laipham, Khabam, Ahallup, Naharup, Terapur, Dolaithabi Bazar and Dam (6.20 km) can be used for diversion, stated a notice issued by executive engineer, Sadar Hills Division, Public Works Department Th Loken Singh.

The notice requested the president and secretary of Kuki Inpi, Saikul; chairman, Saikul Hill Town; KSO, Saikul; Purum Likli Village Authority; pradhan, member Pukhao GP; president, secretary Pukhao Youth Club to inform the neighbouring villages.

It also urged contractor Ng Durjit Singh to make necessary arrangements for road closure, including signboard, signage, road blockers etc. with consultation of the AE/SO concerned. It requested assistant engineer-I1/ SO, SHD, PWD, Manipur to supervise the work for timely completion.
