The Manipur People’s Party (MPP) on Sunday observed the 32nd Manipuri Language Day with MPP president Ch Shamjai chairing the event held at the party’s conference hall in Imphal.
The MPP, in a release, called upon all the indigenous people to usher in peace and prosperity in the state. Members of the party and youth front took part in the event, it said.
Attendees paid tributes to former MP, late Yumnam Yaima and extolled him for his invaluable contribution in the inclusion of Manipuri language in the 8th Schedule of the Indian constitution, it stated. The party also thanked AMSU, AMSCOC and the people for their support, it mentioned.
