As part of the 133rd Raising Day celebrations of Manipur Police held on Saturday across the State, Yairipok Police Station has received the Best Police Station award in Thoubal district.
Meanwhile, Sub-Inspector of Lilong Police Station S Bhubon received the award for Best Investigating Officer. Assistant Sub-Inspector of Thoubal Police Station W Suresh of and Sub-Inspector of Thoubal Women Police Station M Sarojini Devi were honored with the second and third Best Investigating Officer awards, respectively.
The selection was done after an Intra-District Competition was organised for evaluating the Best Police Station of Thoubal District and Best Investigating Officers of Thoubal District Police for motivating and encouraging the Police Officers of Thoubal District.
On the recommendations of a screening committee constituted in this regard, the Police Stations were evaluated based on upkeep of Police Station, investigation of cases, achievement on CI Ops front, achievement on crime against women & children, atrocities against SC/STs, cyber crime etc, disposal of verifications, community policing, welfare measures and environmental friendly activities.
Further, the Investigating Officers were then evaluated based on cases investigated by officers, number of intelligence inputs collected, achievement/contribution in community policing, maintenance of record and discipline.
