Manipur: World Health Day observed

A painting competition participated by altogether 560 students was held as part of the event, stated a release.

Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) Imphal on Sunday observed the World Health Day on the theme ‘My health, My right’ on Sunday at RIMS Jubilee Hall.

A painting competition participated by altogether 560 students was also held as part of the event, stated a release. Speaking at the event, RIMS Director professor G Sunil Kumar Sharma asserted that the event will facilitate in imparting the importance of the day to the young minds, it said.

He further appreciated the students and their parents for participating in the competition and also stressed the need for all to stay fit and healthy, it noted. While RIMS medical superintendent, professor N Sanjib Singh lauded the RIMS Director RIMS encouraging the Swachhta Action Plan Team in organising various Swachhta activities to maintain cleanliness around the campus.

Nodal officer, Kaya Kalp/SAP, RIMS Hospital, nursing officer, RIMS Hospital, Imphal, Professor Y Govindaraj Singh and Clinical Psychologist, Kh Pampak delivered a talk on ‘My health, my right’, ‘Hand hygiene and summer illness’ and ‘Stress Management’ to the students during the programme it mentioned.

Later the Director and Medical Superintendent distributed cash awards and certificates to the winners of the painting competition, it said. Deputy Director (Admn), RIMS, RK Mecolt Singh,n CAO/FA, RIMS, Sairem Sarat Singh, HODs, nursing officials, faculty members and staff attended the event, it added.
