Manipur has bagged the top award for conducting the highest number of tele-consultation sessions at Ayushman Bharat-Health and Wellness Centres under the Northeastern or Hilly States category, followed by Assam.
The award was handed over to state Health Minister Dr Sapam Ranjan Singh and mission director of National Health Mission, Manipur, Dr Somorjit Ningombam during the closing ceremony of the two-day meeting on Universal Health Day 2022 at Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.
The meeting was conducted under the theme “Build the world we want-A healthy future for all”. It was attended by Union Health Minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya and Health ministers of different states.
On the inaugural day of the meeting, issues related to PM-Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission (PM-ABHIM) and the 15th finance commission were discussed.
On the second day of the Universal Health Coverage meeting, Manipur was acknowledged for achieving the target of operationalization of AB-HWCs by UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Union Health minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya.
In the ministerial section chaired by the Union Health Minister, PMJAY was discussed in detail.
The state was selected for this award on the basis of the campaign conducted by the Union Health and Family Welfare MInistry during the period October 12, 2022 to December 8, 2022.
