Extending solidarity to FAMBEI’s ‘Black September’ protests in various areas across the state from September 3 to 21 in view of the rising civil unrest triggered by the conflict, Meira paibis of Heirok part (ii) market in Thoubal district, on Sunday night, paid homage to the brave Meitei (Meetei) martyrs killed in the ongoing conflict.

The womenfolk hoisted a black flag at Heirok market marking the beginning of the ‘Black September’ protest. Public also paid floral tribute to the victims of the conflict. The crowd also chanted various slogans such as ‘Long Live Manipur’, ‘Manipur gi saktam kaiba yaroi’, ‘Manipur dagi Assam Rifles louthok-u’, ‘Manipur da tokhaiba Administration thamba yaroi’ etc.
