In a positive development, after four days of turmoil, Manipur government representatives on Saturday held talks with CSOs and student unions, tribal leaders, regarding the present imbroglio in Churachandpur at the DC office where the discussion was held for mutual exchange of those who are stranded.
The government representatives were led by commissioner PK Jha, IGP Kabib, district top official, including the Commander of 27 sector AR and Indigenous Tribal Leaders Forum (ITLF).
For further talks, the tribal leaders put their conditions that the curfew be relaxed between 7 am to 12 noon and security posts be set up at four locations, the government should own responsibility for the present death and injury of civilians, airlifting of those injured by the Army, etc.
Further, the ITLF party agreed for public announcement that everybody should stay indoors during curfew and those who ventured out should do so at their own risk and will have to be responsible for their own safety.
They agreed to curb rumours and false news and remove road barricade at different colony.
